Terms & Conditions of Service
1. Scope of Services
Sparkling Touch Support Services provides non-personal care support to elderly individuals and vulnerable adults within the community.
Services include companionship, home help and light housekeeping, shopping and errands, appointments and hospital visits, welfare checks, and community outings.
Support may include light mobility assistance such as steadying support or pushing a wheelchair where appropriate.
2. Non-Regulated Status
Sparkling Touch Support Services provides non-personal care support only.
We do not provide regulated activities under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Washing or bathing
- Dressing
- Toileting
- Administration of medication
- Any invasive or clinical procedures
Medication reminders may be offered; however, medication is not administered.
If a client’s needs change and regulated care becomes necessary, we will support the client or their representative in sourcing an appropriate CQC-registered provider.
3. Service Hours
Standard operating hours are:
Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Services outside of these hours, including weekends, are available on request only, subject to availability, and may incur additional charges.
Sparkling Touch Support Services does not provide late evening or overnight services.
4. Fees & Charges
All services are charged as follows:
- Weekday Rate: £28 per hour
- Weekend & Out-of-Hours: Available on request at a higher rate
- Bank Holidays: £40 per hour
Shopping & Errands:
- With client present: £28 per hour (minimum visit times apply)
- Without client present: £30 flat rate (up to 1 hour)
Mileage:
Mileage is charged at 45p per mile when transporting clients or during outings.
Minimum visit durations apply depending on the service type and are outlined in the current pricing schedule.
All fees are clearly communicated with no hidden costs.
5. Payment Terms
Invoices are issued weekly in arrears, unless otherwise agreed.
Payment is due within 7 calendar days of the invoice date.
Sparkling Touch Support Services reserves the right to suspend services if payment is not received within this timeframe.
Ad-hoc bookings may require payment at the time of booking.
6. Late Payment
Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
Reasonable recovery costs may also be added to outstanding balances.
7. Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or rearrange a visit.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% charge
- No notice cancellations may incur a 100% charge
8. Capacity & Representation
Where a client lacks capacity, this agreement may be entered into by a legally authorised representative.
The representative confirms they have the authority to act on the client’s behalf and accepts financial responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9. Confidentiality & Data Protection
All personal data is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information is stored securely and only shared where necessary for service delivery or where legally required.
10. Liability
Sparkling Touch Support Services maintains appropriate Public Liability Insurance.
Liability is limited to the level of insurance cover held at the time of any claim.
Sparkling Touch shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
11. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate services by providing 7 days’ written notice.
Immediate termination may occur where there are safeguarding concerns, risks to safety, or inappropriate behaviour.
12. Agreement
By engaging Sparkling Touch Support Services, the client (or their representative) agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
